Pay: $22,000 – $31,000 per year (hourly equivalent)

Job Description
Celestial Memorial Gardens is hiring a Cemetery Maintenance Worker / Groundskeeper to support daily cemetery operations, burial services, and grounds maintenance. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, construction, or outdoor labor who are looking for stable, full-time employment with benefits.
This role involves working outdoors year-round, operating hand and mechanical equipment, and assisting with burial preparation while maintaining a respectful and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities

Perform cemetery grounds maintenance including mowing, trimming, and landscaping

Open and close graves for burials and interments

Prepare burial sites by digging, filling, seeding, or sodding

Assemble and install memorials and headstones

Install burial vaults (outer burial containers)

Operate equipment such as tractors, backhoes, dump trucks, and vault dollies

Complete daily work orders and interment verifications

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities

Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas

Follow OSHA and company safety procedures

Complete required training and meet performance standards
Qualifications & Skills
-
Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, construction, or outdoor labor preferred

Ability to operate hand tools (shovels, rakes, trimmers, blowers, etc.)

Ability to operate or learn heavy equipment (tractor, backhoe, dump truck)

Ability to lift heavy objects and work outdoors in all weather conditions

Basic mechanical skills and attention to detail

Strong work ethic, reliability, and professionalism

Good communication and ability to follow instructions
